OUR MISSION
As the government agency with principal responsibility for coordinating, managing and growing Papua New Guinea’s connection in a changing world, the Department of Foreign Affairs, including Papua New Guinea’s diplomatic and consular representatives, works to secure national interests in meeting the challenges and realizing the opportunities of globalization.
Working closely with other government agencies through a whole – of – government approach and in partnership with the private sector and other non – government organisations and groups in growing international connections, the Department of Foreign Affairs is to provide purposeful, proactive, ongoing support for building capacity and achieving the foreign policy objectives of government. We must not only analyse but be pro-active in offering up-to-date, elegant and useful advice.
In a rapidly changing world, foreign policy procedures and activities must be kept under review.
